The goal of the Pastoral Care Department of Medical Center Hospital is concern for the whole person seeking to develop a spiritual emphasis for patients, their families and hospital personnel. Our hospital recognizes the varied cultures and spiritual backgrounds of the people we serve. We strive to meet their needs through an interfaith approach to pastoral care.
Medical Center Hospital welcomes members of the clergy of all faiths to visit their patients regularly. In the Pastoral Care Department we seek to build and maintain a high quality liaison with the clergy community and assist them in their spiritual goal of providing optimal pastoral care.
We have an inter-denominational chapel and meditation room furnished throught the generosity of our hospital auxiliary to be used by anyone in need. It is located on the first floor of the hospital near the main entrance and is always open for personal worship and prayer.
If you, as a patient or a family member, would like to see a priest, minister or rabbi, please let the attending nurse know. Our hospital chaplains also provide pastoral counseling and you may reach them by calling (432) 640-1400 or the hospital operator.
